PSC Year-End News
2022

Dear Friends,
Every organization has a history. I’d like to tell you about ours.
In 1990, a small group of not-so ordinary South Carolina private citizens met for the purpose of forming a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to identifying and preserving our state’s historic buildings.
They envisioned an organization similar to those already established groups in Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia, and why not? Is not our state’s history and landmarks the equal of those states?
So thought preservation minded South Carolinians from around the state.
Even as we look ahead to 2023, we are going to recognize and honor the people of our past, the places they saved, and the communities that they impacted. Be they churches or general stores, textile mills or courthouses, South Carolina landmarks are the ties that bind us all to the past and future.
On behalf of our board and staff, I am honored to not just be part of this current team but to represent those who served before me.
Thank you for your support of Preservation South Carolina.
